Turquoise Caribbean water and a small island seen from a cruise ship

Why use an advisor?

You can book a cruise online in ten minutes. The booking is the easy part. Choosing the right ship, cabin, and sailing for your family, keeping track of every deadline, and having someone to call when plans change is where an advisor earns a place on your trip.

  • Same price in most cases
  • One person to call
  • Perks when available

What I do that a booking site can’t

The right fit, not every option

Booking sites show you everything. I ask the right questions about who’s traveling, what you enjoy, and what you want to spend, then recommend the cruise line, ship, and cabin that fit. I’ll also point out what’s included and what only looks included.

Someone in your corner

When you book on your own and something goes wrong, you wait on hold with a call center. When you book with me, you have one person who knows your trip and works with the cruise line or supplier to set it right.

Extras you won’t find on your own

Through my host agency’s membership in the Travel Leaders Network, some sailings and resorts include added amenities or promotions on top of the supplier’s own offers, at no extra cost to you. Group rates and agent-only promotions can add value too.

I keep watching after you book

Your trip doesn’t end when you pay the deposit. I track your final payment date and keep an eye out for new promotions or price changes before then. If something better comes up, I’ll ask the cruise line to apply it when its rules allow.

The details, handled

Specialty dining, shore excursions, and shows can fill up early, so I help you plan them ahead. I check passport dates (many countries require six months of validity past your return), go over travel protection options on every trip, and plan for any accessibility, mobility, or dietary needs.

The whole trip, not just the ship

A cruise starts before you reach the pier. I can arrange a hotel the night before, transportation between the airport, hotel, and ship, and a stay after you’re back on land.

When plans change

  1. Say your flight to the port is canceled the night before your cruise. On your own, you’re juggling the airline, the cruise line, and a hotel at the same time.

  2. With me, you make one call.

  3. I work with the cruise line on your options, help with a new plan to reach the ship, and help you use your travel protection if you have it.

That’s why I recommend flying in the day before every cruise. It’s one of the simplest ways to protect your vacation.

Honest about price

I won’t always have the lowest number. Warehouse clubs and large booking sites buy travel in huge volume, and sometimes their price is lower. When that happens, I’ll tell you, explain why, and show you what’s included on each side so you can decide.

If you have hotel loyalty status, ask me about it. Booking through me on my agency’s rates usually keeps your points and status credit, which many booking sites don’t.

When you might not need me

For a simple flight on a route you know, or a quick hotel stay where you’re using points, booking directly is often easiest. I’d rather tell you that than add a step you don’t need. Where I help most is on cruises and trips with several moving parts.

How I get paid

Cruise lines and travel suppliers build a commission into their prices for the advisor who makes the booking. You pay the same price whether you book on your own or through me. When you book on your own, the supplier keeps that commission. When you book through me, it pays me for planning your trip and looking after it.

Your payments always go directly to the cruise line or supplier, never to me.

I’m an independent travel agent affiliated with Atlas Coast Travel Group, my host agency. Atlas Coast provides the industry credentials and supplier relationships behind your booking, and it earns its income when travel is booked, not by recruiting new agents. My recommendations are based on what fits you, and I’m here to plan your trip, not to sign you up for anything.

Fair questions

Will booking with you cost more?

In most cases, no. Suppliers pay my commission, so you pay the same price you would booking on your own.

What if I find a lower price somewhere else?

Send it to me. I’ll compare it with what I can offer, including what’s included and what isn’t, and give you a straight answer.

I’ve cruised before. Do I still need an advisor?

You may not need help choosing a ship, but you still get perks when they’re available, someone watching for better offers before final payment, and one person to call if plans change. I’ll also add your past-guest or loyalty number so your perks follow you.

Do you book flights?

For most trips, booking flights directly with the airline is simplest. I’ll help you pick flight times that work with your cruise and arrange a hotel the night before.

How soon should I start planning?

Earlier is better for the best cabin choices, especially for holidays, school breaks, and suites. Many travelers book six months to a year ahead, but reach out whenever you’re ready and I’ll tell you what’s available.
